We’ve had some PCCWeb users ask about website policies, such as for photos or comments. PCCWeb leaves this up to the individual congregation using the service to create.
But, in the spirit of sharing, if your congregation has developed a policy for any aspect of its online presence, please let us and others know. If you can, post a link to a document to let others see the details, or email communications@presbyterian.ca.
At this stage of website development (Day One), our congregation has not yet developed a policy for our online presence. But as we go down the road, this is certainly worth considering.
Unless you are monitoring the site on a daily basis and actually desire public input, questions and exchanges, we suggest you keep the ‘comment’ feature on most pages turned off.
We encourage the use of photos that display church events and group activities, but we’ve established the photo policy that unless the person has given permission, for security purposes photos will not focus on individuals nor be captioned with names.
