Last modified: February 25, 2011A. Preparing and leading worship. You will learn the basics of how to put together a worship service for God’s gathered people. Led by Roberta Clare, Elder’s Institute
B. Ministry with Children and Youth. Bill and Elaine Adams of the Cariboo, BC, will share the story of their outreach to the children and youth of their small villages. It is something anyone can do!
C. Ministry with Seniors. For the past 7 years Bruce Wilcox has been the lay pastor of a church in a seniors’ residence. He’ll share his story and insights with us.
D. God Centered Worship. Biblical basis for worship and worship leading including: the life of David, differing styles, and tips for serving a diverse congregation. Leader: Jessie Chapin, Cariboo house churches.
E. Spiritual Gifts. Christine Hansen of New Zealand will help us explore spiritual gifts and how they can be discovered and used in ministry.
F. Sacraments. Together we will explore the meaning of baptism and the Lord’s Supper and how we practice them together in the body of Christ. Leader: Shannon Bell, Cariboo House Churches
G. Funerals. Anyone can lead a funeral. We’ll explore the preparation for a funeral and pastoral care as we walk with the grieving in our communities. Leader: TBA
H. Nurturing a Praying Church: Prayer is foundational to all we do. How can we help our churches to pray in the power of the Spirit? Leader: Joanne Rosendaal, Dunamis Canada
I. Pastoral Care. How do we care for one another in the body of Christ? Gain skills in communication, visitation and sharing the hope of Christ with others. Leader: Gordon Kellett, Cariboo House Churches
J. Person and Work of the Holy Spirit: Foundational teaching on how the Holy Spirit can empower and equip leadership in the church. Leader: Dunamis Canada *Note: this will be a two session workshop
