Our Mission Statement was adopted in Jan. of 2017: “But he’s already made it plain how to live, what to do, what God is looking for in men and women. It’s quite simple. Do what is fair and just to your neighbor, be compassionate and loyal in your love, and don’t take yourself too seriously – take God seriously.” Micah 6:8 – The Message
Formally established in 1786, First Church is Pictou County’s oldest congregation, and plays a major role in the life and worship of Pictou County today. With the largest seating capacity in the region, First Church is often used by other churches for large weddings or funerals, and as the host church for most large community worship services.
We offer a welcoming, vibrant congregation that is blessed with active and enthusiastic families. A mission-focused congregation in the past, we continue to look beyond ourselves on a daily basis with an outreach ministry in the community and worldwide.
We are located downtown on MacLean St., between James and Temperance Streets. Our century old building is breathtaking, and hopefully, you will find the friendliness of our congregation just what you’re looking for!
Whether passing through Pictou County or living in the community, we would welcome your visit. We look forward to meeting you.
