The Rev. Ian McWhinnie has been with Glenbrook since April 1999.
Before entering the ministry in 1990, Ian spent numerous summers working at various Christian Camps, including Glen Mhor Camp and Pioneer Camp. Ian also worked several summers for the City of Etobicoke at Centennial Park. Ian attended the University of Toronto at Mississauga for his B.A. and then to Knox College (University of Toronto) for his Master of Divinity and Master of Theology.
Ian seeks to make the Bible relevant to his congregation. He seeks to make his gifts of ministry, whether it be preaching, leadership, pastoral care and visiting, reflect the love and the grace of Jesus Christ. Ian encourages the leaders and members of Glenbrook to use their gifts to encourage, empower and to reach out to others with the good news of Jesus Christ.
Ian is married to Gwenna, who is a public school teacher. They have twin daughters. Together, their love of music enriches the congregation’s Worship and various social events. In his spare time, Ian enjoys playing the guitar, watching the Toronto Maple Leafs, camping, reading, playing soccer with his daughters and gardening.
Pastor’s Message
Glenbrook Presbyterian Church is a congregation made up of people who come from diverse cultural backgrounds and varied life experiences. We celebrate that diversity. Yet Glenbrook is also a congregation where we celebrate our community together, brought together in Jesus Christ.
We are a community that prays and worships together. We are a community that cares for each other. We are a community that strives to reach out with the good news of Jesus. We are a community, not formed because of anything we have done, but because of the grace of God. I am reminded of the scripture passage “You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God,that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.”
I am grateful to God to pastor and to belong to this community of faith here at Glenbrook. For more information please contact us either by phone or e-mail.
God bless you.

Pastoral Care
We all have needs. Sometimes these needs are not so huge but we feel that a little help could lighten the load. At other times, we can find ourselves in situations that are so difficult that we cannot see the way out. God gave us each other so that we could help each other. If you are suffering physical or emotional difficulty, dealing with the death of a loved one, experiencing marital problems, feeling lonely, or sense a spiritual emptiness, we can help. Please feel free to call the church office if you would like to talk to someone, have someone come to visit, or need a ride to church.
An appropriate place to celebrate God’s healing is in the community of faith, which is the body of Christ, Glenbrook Church. At Glenbrook we have several programs planned for and to educate people on the relationship between LIFESTYLES, ATTITUDES and FAITH.
