Bible Studies – various bible studies are offered by Glenbrook to develop our understanding and application of God’s word.
- Wednesday Morning Study - weekly at 10 a.m. in the Hearth room. This group is led by our Pastor, Ian McWhinnie and they are presently studying the New Testament Book of Romans.I f you are free on Wednesday morning why not join us? You will receive a warm welcome.
- Wednesday Evening Study Group — Does God speak to us today? You bet! Want to explore this topic further? If so, please join us for The Power of a Whisper: Hearing God. Having the Guts to Respond. We’ll meet for six Wednesday nights starting January 18th at 7:30 p.m.
This is a video-based study by best-selling author and Pastor Bill Hybels. Over the course of six weeks we will learn to direct our everyday steps according to “whispers” from God. Through firsthand accounts spanning more than thirty years spent in the trenches of ministry, Hybels’s passion is to invite every Christ-follower to learn how to live with one ear perpetually tuned to heaven and how to meticulously obey every syllable of input received. This will be a powerful, yet practical small group that helps participants invite God’s input into their daily routine and how to “practice” being in His presence. This study will be led by Debora Lim, Glenbrook’s Director of Church Development.
Cost: $15. To register please call the Glenbrook office at 905-820-9860.

Family Ministries
- Nursery Care – There is a Nursery Care Facilitator who provides nursery care for both Glenbrook and St. Thomas a Becket on Sunday mornings from 9:45 to 12 noon.
- Children – After a brief time of worship with the larger congregation, children ages 3 – 8 gather for their own time of worship, learning from the Bible, enjoying crafts and other fun activities.
- Junior Youth – After a brief time of worship with the larger congregation, Jr. High students (grades 4-8) will hang out together for their own time of learning. The curriculum being used for 2011/2012 is called “Live Big”. The Juniors also have their own social events during the year.
- Senior Youth - Our Senior Youth Group (aka Press B) meets every Sunday evening at 7 p.m. in the Glenbrook sanctuary. Press B (so named because we’re Presbyterians) is open to those in grade 7 and up. Each meeting revolves around the three Ps – probe, prayer and practice!! This year, the group is studying the book of Daniel in preparation for writing a rock cantata based on the life of Daniel! All youth enjoy music – and Press B is no exception! Everyone is encouraged to participate, whether they like to sing, play an instrument, dance or tap their foot! Press B leads worship at Glenbrook a few times a year and has been asked to perform a few times a year at other churches. Press B also joins with Senior and Junior youth from Glenbrook and other Presbyterian churches for regular field trips and social events.
- Families – Social activities are planned for families such as Snow Tubing, a Trip to the Zoo, a Hillsong Concert, and Game Nights. As well we run an annual UPWARD Soccer Camp every August (see Summer ministries below) and PD Day camps.

Anyone wishing to avail himself or herself of this extra prayer support is asked to come to the front of the sanctuary following services on Sunday morning.

Summer Ministries
- Glenbrook “Catch” Baseball Team – Each summer Glenbrook participates in a summer baseball program organized by the Mississauga Church League. This is a great avenue for Christian fellowship not only for our own members but also with other churches in our community. The focus of playing ball in this league is to have fun and to “honour God” in the way the game is played. Games are held on Friday evenings throughout the summer, culminating in a tournament the last week of August. If you enjoy baseball, we encourage you to join our team. If you don’t wish to play, we welcome you to come out and watch and join in the after-game festivities!
- UPWARD Soccer Camp – Glenbrook organizes a half-day soccer camp for children in August each year. The camp is a mixture of sports, arts and crafts, singing and bible teaching. This program is open to children in senior kindergarten through and including Grade six. The camp is an affordable option for most families and some financial assistance is provided to those in need.
