This is our tentative plan for workshops this year. Please keep in mind it may change as we confirm workshop leaders.

MORNING ACTIVITIES – BEFORE BREAKFAST

Morning Music Following Holy Motion, come sing your favourite and soon-to-be-favourite contemporary worship songs. All

PERIOD 1

Activity Description Age
Camp Choir Four-part singing for campers of any musical ability.  Music reading is not required. 13+
Cherubs Activities, games, stories and crafts for the very young.  Parents are encouraged to stay until children are comfortable.  Every child needs a hat, indoor shoes or slippers, sunscreen (applied), and rain gear on wet days.  Sand toys may also be used. 1½-5
Jr. Children’s Choir Singing and fun! 6-8
Youth Choir Music and Movement 9 to 19

 

PERIOD 2

Activity Description Age
Bible Study Daily discussion based on the theme for each day.  This year, teen and adult bible study is combined. 13+
Cherubs Continued from Period 1 – see description above. 1½-5
Children’s Games Outdoor fun, games, hikes etc.  Hats and sunscreen needed.  Boots and jacket if wet. 6-12
Concert Band Instrumental music for woodwinds, brass & percussion – bring your own instrument. 13+
Mandolin (beginner) Instruction for mandolin players.  Bring your own mandolin, tuned if possible. 13+

 

 

PERIOD 3

Activity Description Age
Crafts A different craft every day.  Stay tuned for details.  Children under age 8 are welcome with an adult. 8+
Drum Circle (beg) For those new to hand drumming.  Bring your djembes and other drums if you have them – if not, we have a few loaners.
Folk Groups Please bring a song or two that you would like to work on in a small group ensemble.  Instrumentalists & singers welcome.  This is a self-directed group with no instructor. 13+
Garage Band Ever wanted to start a garage band? Come out and meet others looking to do the same. Jam and see what evolves. 13+
Recorder (int/adv) For recorder players with experience who want a challenge. 8+
Show Choir Four-part singing with choreography (think “Glee”).  Difficulty of moves will be suitable for most campers.  Please note that this is a 2-period workshop (3 & 4). 11+
Sports Sign-out Listen to lunch-time announcements for details as to what may be signed out each day and where. All
Swimming/Canoeing For swimmers, non-swimmers, and just waders. All

 

PERIOD 4

Activity Description Age
Celtic Instruments Please bring a song or two that you would like to work on in a small group ensemble.  This is an instrumental group and is self-directed with no instructor. 13+
Guitar (beg) Instruction for guitar players.  Bring you own guitar, tuned if possible. 8+
Jazz Band An instrumental group for those interested in traditional and contemporary jazz. 13+
Show Choir Cont. See description above – please note that you must be able to attend both periods to join this group. 11+
Sports Sign-out See above. All
Swimming/Canoeing For swimmers, non-swimmers, and sandcastle builders All

 

PERIOD 5

Activity Description Age
Advanced Choir Singing in four parts for campers of more advanced musical ability.  Reading music is required. 13+
Photography Bring your camera and explore the natural world God has created. 13+
Drum Circle (int) For those with experience at hand drums, looking for a challenge.  Bring your djembes and other drums if you have them.  If not, we have a few loaners.
Bass Guitar 13+
Swimming/Canoeing For swimmers, non-swimmers, and just waders. All
Ukulele For beginners and intermediate players. The first ½ of the period is for children 6-12 and the second half for ages 13+. See note
