Dear Friends

I pray that during this season of Lent you are having opportunities to grow in your  faith as you make time and space for prayer, scripture reading, and caring for the others.

Once again this week, a group at St. Andrew’s hosted a lunch for folks from our community in need of a warm meal or company.  The folks who provide food always seem to prepare enough food and there are usually leftovers.  So after everyone has been fed, the organizers package food for others and deliver a meal to folks who did not come, but who also appreciate a warm meal, and no doubt the company, as the meal is delivered to their home.

Our sharing of the food that is tangible, happened at the church, but also it was shared by going out and delivering meals.  So it is with the word of God, that feeds us, we share that word, with those who come to worship each Sunday, but then we are sent out to share the Word of God through our words and actions.

Mission happens within our church’s walls, but it also happens as we go out in Christ’s name and love.

This Sunday, we look at another question Jesus asked, “Do you want to be made well?”  Sunday February 28th at 10:30 a.m.

The  World Day of Prayer Service will be held on Friday March 5th at Grace-St Andrew’s United Church at 1:30 p.m.

It was great to read on the Presbyterian Church in Canada’s website, that individuals and congregations across the country have made a remarkable response to victims of the earthquake in Haiti through PWS&D. To date,  over $1.3 million has been raised!

May the Lord bless you this week and make you a blessing.
