At Trafalgar, we understand that relationships are at the heart of any community, and that is especially true for Christians Spending time together helps each of us to feel connected in important ways. This is a community loves to laugh and have a good time together!
The annual Lobster Dinner at the end of May offers a festive atmosphere and an all-you-can-eat lobster supper complete with salads, rolls, dessert and roast beef (for those not fond of lobster). A silent auction is held the same night and offers a huge range of items–pieces from local artists, gift certificates from area merchants, as well as homemade pies and services. A jazz ensemble provides a relaxing backdrop to the evening and a cash bar adds to the festive atmosphere. Send us an email or just drop by if you and a few friends want one to reserve a table. We sell almost two hundred tickets every year.
Seniors and those at home during the day are invited to gatherings several times a year, such as an Epiphany Party, Valentine’s Tea, or Strawberry Social. Over a glass of wine or a cup of tea, warm conversation flows easily as everyone takes some time to slow down and enjoy one another’s company.
On a Sunday night in December the congregation and surrounding community gathers for a Christmas dinner of roast turkey and all the trimmings. Everything is lovingly prepared by those with gifts for hospitality. Afterwards there is plenty of live music and a play celebrating the season. It is a comfortable, family evening where many gifts are shared and the story of Mary, Joseph and the baby Jesus comes alive in new and surprising ways.
In all of our activities, we remember that Jesus delighted in human relationship and loved to have a good time himself. We intentionally create events that offer a broad welcome to individuals from any background and families of all shapes and sizes. You are invited!
