Leadership Development within Congregations

One of the Animator’s roles is to help congregations develop leaders within the congregation. This is done through offering different workshops, led either by the Animator or others (generally from the National Office), or by putting people in touch with other organizations specializing in such information.

Animator-Led Workshops

Workshops focusing on Leadership Development that I can facilitate include:
– Elder Training
– Leading with Care
– Pastoral Care  (Introduction)
– Re-Imagine Your Church
– Representative Elder Training

National Church-Led Programs

The National Church offers a number of webinars (click here for latest listings) on various topics, including:
– Canadian Ministries
– Communications (includes website development)
– International / PWSD
– Justice
– Leadership & Renewal
– Leading with Care
– Stewardship & Planned Giving

The National Church also offers workshops on specific topics that congregations, presbyteries, or the Animator may ask for, such as:
– Workshops for Treasurers
– Workshops on policies dealing with Sexual Abuse and Harassment

So many great organizations exist that offer programs to help congregations, whether with church growth, pastoral care training, Sunday School teacher training, Youth Leader training, etc.  The list will keep growing but here are some:
