Caleb’s Greetings and Notes as Interim Moderator

Dear Members and Friends of Ballyduff Church,

What a wonderful fellowship we had after this past Sunday’s service (June 25, 2023)! My wife and I truly enjoyed our time with many of you, worshipping the Lord our God and sharing a delicious lunch afterward.

With this note, I would like to share some important information with you as your Interim Moderator (IM).

First, I want to express my sincere gratitude for all the support and prayers I have received in various ways since my appointment as the IM in November 2022. I am deeply honored and privileged to be working with you in continuously building up our God-given ministry together in Ballyduff and beyond.

Second, as you have been informed that the Ballyduff Session has begun preparations for the church’s upcoming 170th Anniversary event. The milestone service is scheduled for Sunday, October 22, 2023, at 2:30 p.m. at the church, featuring a guest speaker, special music, and fellowship on this significant occasion. More detailed information and resources regarding this divine gathering will be posted on the Ballyduff Church website: https://pccweb.ca/ballyduff/ Since the church website was created with the assistance of the Communication Department in our denomination in April 2023, several have been made. Additional content will be added to the website in the coming days. Please let me know if you have any valuable items or beneficial information to share with others that could be updated on the website. Online advertising or announcements about the 170th Anniversary event and its news would be an effective method in today’s digital age.

Third, please do not hesitate to reach out to me at any time if there is a need for emergency pastoral care within the Ballyduff congregation. You can also reach out to your church elders, and they can relay your message to me.

Fourth, I have included information below about the hybrid 10 am worship services at St. Andrew’s Fenelon Falls. For your information, I am the minister of the newly amalgamated congregation formed by the former Knox Glenarm and St. Andrew’s Fenelon Falls. If you happen to be in the Fenelon Falls area on a Sunday, you are more than welcome to join us for in-person worship as we praise the Lord together. Alternatively, you can choose to participate in our virtual services until Ballyduff Church resumes its worship service on Sunday after the Labour Day weekend in September.

Lastly, I would like to echo the encouragement of Nehemiah to the people of Israel when they faced challenging situations after a long period of isolation, much like the Covid-19 circumstances in our modern days: Then I [Nehemiah] said to them, “You see the trouble we are in: Jerusalem lies in ruins, and its gates have been burned with fire. Come, let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem, and we will no longer be in disgrace.” I also told them about the gracious hand of my God on me and what the king had said to me. They replied, “Let us start rebuilding.” So they began this good work” (Nehemiah 2:17-18).

Wishing you and your loved ones a wonderful summer!

Blessings,

Caleb
