A bit of history …

  • Congregation founded in 1862
  • Present church built in 1887
  • Robert Lamb, builder, brought a piece of limestone from Scotland and it was inserted in the sixth granite block up from the foundation between the door and the window on the right side of the church
  • The trowel used to lay the cornerstone and the first communion set are displayed in a cabinet in the sanctuary
  • In 1907 ten beautiful stained glass windows were installed
  • In the 1920’s the bell ringing tradition began and was a special welcome to all in the area.
  • In 1946 a full basement was excavated and a well was drilled
  • In 1950 the interior was completely decorated and a mural “Jesus Knocking at the Door” was painted by Guelph artist Gordon Couling
