Rev. W.A. Lang, the First Minister (1878-1884)

W.A. LangIn 1878, W.A. Lang was ordained in Lunenburg, becoming the first minister who actually lived in the area.

In 1880, three more elders were elected, and the Paul’s Hill congregation was divided into “Elders’ Districts”.

The church continued to grow. By 1881, approximately 39 children were in the Sabbath School, taught by 9 teachers. In addition to regular services, there was also a bi-weekly Prayer Meeting.

1882 saw the creation of the Women’s Foreign Missionary Society, and in 1883, the “Workers for Jesus” Mission Band was formed.

In 1884, the Rev. W.A. Lang resigned due to ill health.
