About

The first Presbyterian Church in Pembroke was organized in 1849 and became known as Calvin Church. In 1925, the church union crisis resulted in the formation of First Presbyterian Church, which built a beautiful church on the main street in 1928. This building, noted for its acoustics, is well-maintained and continually being improved. Our church also operates a cemetery in cooperation with Calvin United Church. Many Presbyterians from the surrounding area have joined us over the years, and our members come from a wide diversity of denominational backgrounds, such as Church of Scotland, Lutheran, and Evangelical United Brethren.

We desire to be a congregation that is spiritually alive and devoted to reaching out to others, rooted in the evangelical and Reformed tradition as expressed in the Westminster Confession of Faith and Living Faith, a recent Presbyterian statement of belief.
