Women’s Missionary Society

The Women’s Missionary Society (WMS) is a lively group of women who meet on the 2nd Thursday of the month. This group has been meeting since 1884. They celebrated their 125th Anniversary in fine fashion in 2009.

The Knox WMS meets regularly to study, pray for and serve the missions of the Presbyterian Church and its ecumenical partners. They keep informed about current mission and justice projects, often by using Presbyterian Church Mission studies.

Glad Tidings, the WMS magazine, has been published six times a year. It contains relevant articles, worship liturgies, and news of international partners. It also celebrates events in the life of the WMS.Unfortunately it will cease publication after the fall issue.

The members of the WMS enjoy guest speakers, Presbyterial and Synodical events, and ‘Cake by the Lake’ at Camp Kintail each summer. Each meeting is different because of the devotions, mission studies, food, fun and fellowship carefully prepared by members of the society.
