ABOUT OUR MISSION
Knox Presbyterian’s Cancer Care Mission offers a selection of wigs, hats, scarves, shawls and head accessories free of charge to cancer patients in Southwestern Ontario. Since its’ beginning in 2004, it has provided this care and comfort to more than 1,000 cancer patients.
Each client will meet with a personal hair stylist and a caring volunteer upon their visit. Our hairdressers are very particular in helping each individual pick an appropriate colour and style to make them look and feel better, and will trim the wig to suit the client. The volunteers of the Wig Room are very dedicated and committed to helping each client confidentially with their specific needs. Clients leave with a little smile on their face and hope in their hearts.
Clients come from southwestern Ontario and through hospitals in KW, London, Toronto, Wingham, Owen Sound, Goderich, and Stratford where patients are undergoing treatments.
