Soloist Eles Ferenc, theological student
Before I left for Canada in early May this year, I organized a special Spring Concert in my institute. I invited for the first time the Hungarian Pedagogical Choir of Cluj to participate. Three soloists from the local opera companies also took part.
One of the highlights was singing Dvorak’s “Goin’ Home” based on his New World Symphony. Fortunately the concert was videotaped and I could show it many times during my May/June deputation speaking engagements in Canada. After the concert the English students who participated were asked to write a composition about their interpretation of “Going Home” which produced some interesting results.
