A Special Christmas Service

Christmas serviceI was very happy to participate with my good friend and pastor Tokes Attila in leading the special children’s Christmas Service in Geges, Romania.

First Attila read the passage of ‘The Three Magi’ focusing on their gifts to Jesus, and then I introduced them to the Huron Carol where the gifts are fox and beaver pelt. Then Attila and I compared our own personal gifts that we have received from God and asked the children to do the same. They gave me the gift of a Hungarian Bible, and Attila concluded by reading from I Corinthians:

There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work. 1 Corinthians 12:4-11 4

The children proceeded to offer their program demonstrating their various gifts and abilities, and the service ended with the congregation singing “Silent Night.”
