Welcome to Our Church
The Nine Mile Creek Presbyterian Church is located close to the waters of the Northumberland Strait in central Prince Edward Island and presents an active rural ministry to the church family in Nine Mile Creek and surrounding areas.
Some years ago there was a move to close the church, however the active members within the church family petitioned the PEI Presbytery to keep the church open and it was during that time Rev Gordon Matheson, as Interim Moderator, was asked to maintain a ministry within the congregation.
One of the great advantages we have is that the awesome coastline is vacation land for numerous cottagers who spend their summers near the beautiful waters of the Strait. These cottagers enjoy the awesome view, bounty of shell fish from the rich fishing grounds, and great produce provided by our local farmers.
Many of these cottagers bless us with their attendance over the summer months and are pleased to learn we have a Sunday School Program for their children followed by a light lunch during the months of July and August.
This gives the session the opportunity to have a regular Sunday Morning Service year around for the folks of the area and their families.
The church is not in a financial position to have a full time ministry, however we continue to supply the pulpit with the great assistance from our retired ministers in the area and are blessed with numerous musical guests each Sunday, year round.
