A century ago, on Nov. 29, 1904, 17 women from St. Andrew’s, New Glasgow, N.S., met in the church parlour to inaugurate their chapter of the Women’s Foreign Missionary Society. Elsie Mackay was born seven years later, and has been a member of the Society for over sixty years. On Dec. 1, 2004 members of the newly named Elsie Mackay Auxiliary AMS met to celebrate their centenary.
