Gracefield Camp and Conference Centre

08-01

Gracefield Camp and Conference Centre, in the Synod of Quebec and Eastern Ontario, is growing, thanks to sound management and a volunteer labour force aged seven to over 70. The latest addition is The Manse, a new residence for the co-directors Dorothy and Alan Herbert. The three bedroom, 1,200 square foot home has a full basement was built under budget, and is debt free. Significant contributions were received from the Harold Crabtree Foundation and the presbyteries of Ottawa and Seaway-Glengarry. The project was coordinated by John M. Paul, convenor of the synod finance committee. This is the third major project at the camp in the last few years. Earlier projects were a 60 foot by 24 foot rainy day pavilion and an addition to the main dining hall. The latter was funded by a bequest from Betty Parker.
