Malawi churches fight domestic violence

ENI – Church leaders in Malawi, disturbed at the rate of domestic violence underlined by the recent case of a wife having both arms chopped off by her husband, are joining hands across denominational lines to find ways to halt the scourge for their society.
"There is a need for the church to review theologies, the ministries, the way marriages are instituted and community life. There is a need to provide comprehensive pre-marriage and post-marriage counselling and training," read a communiqué church leaders signed and that congregations have been hearing at recent services.
