The Presbyterian Church in Canada's website will feature a link to a new online questionnaire for the 2006 Census of Population, handled by Statistics Canada. The link will be available beginning May 2, while the census officially starts on May 16.
This strategy is an attempt by StatsCan to raise awareness of the census and to encourage participation in the survey. The data collected is used by governments to design and assess programs and to discuss funding issues. Many non-governmental organizations, businesses and media also use the information in their work. The census measures things such as education, housing, family size and income.
Results will be available beginning early 2007. Find the link at www.presbyterian.ca beginning May 2. – AM
