If you happen to be near church offices on Thursday evenings this summer, make sure you drop by Gateway Community, Toronto, less than a mile away, and say hello to Abel Somar. He’ll fix you something on the barbeque, the way he has for years, on the church’s front yard. The Thursday barbeque is a successful outreach program offered by the church and is open to anyone in the community (or, to those just driving by; tell them the Record sent ya and have them put it on the tab).
