St. Paul’s, Winchester, Ont., is celebrating their 150th this year, and as part of the on-going events held a fund-raising breakfast where 100 ladies were inspired by Grete Hale, who recently received the Order of Canada for her voluntary service. (Her sister had received the order 11 years ago, making them the first sisters to be so honoured.) Hale shared stories about “Mountain Climbing in the Business and Volunteer World.” Rev. Dr. Floyd McPhee, minister at St. Paul’s, stands beside Hale as she receives a cheque for $1,000 from Ladies’ Aid treasurer Carol Zubatuk, for Can Have, with which Hale is involved. Jan Sheridan and Caroline Makeyenga, both right, are Can Have board members.
