What If God Was One Of Us

I'd like to suggest a few songs that could be added to the list.

“What If God Was One Of Us” by Joan Osborne. An example showing how God is all around us. It tells that he can be found in all the “Slobs” on the bus, and that we don't know what he looks like. It suggests to me that we should treat everyone as though he or she could be God in disguise, since we don't really know what we are looking for.

“From A Distance” by Bette Midler. This song shows how from where God is watching, we are all one people. He doesn't see borders, we all have more in common from where he stands than from where we do. This suggests that if too God we have enoug in common to be viewed as one people, then perhaps we should take another look at how we treat our neighbours.
“Baby Baby” by Amy Grant. Technically this song is about her child, but she is a well known Christian Pop artist, and the lyrics of this song “And ever since the day you put my heart in motion/Baby I realize that there's just no getting over you” seem to fit well with how many Christians feel about our devotion. Loving God is not something a person with true faith can put aside. Once we have it, it's ours forever, and nothing can make us get over it.
“Faith” by George Michaels. The name of this song says it all! I love the reprise: “Yes I've gotta have faith… Mmm, I gotta have faith/ 'Cause I gotta have faith, faith, faith, Mm 'cause I gotta have faith-a-faith-a-faith.” It tells the listener that we have to look for something more in our self-oriented world. That could be our faith leading us to Christ.
