Canada Youth 2009, Day 1

Upon arrival, participants at Canada Youth had the option of taking part in “The Amazing Race.” This was a race to certain parts of the Brock University campus so that we could get to know our way around the CY09 activity areas.

Later in the day, most participants gathered in the courtyard (aka “The Stump”) for some exercises before dinner. These included singing and dancing.

Afterward, we went to the cafeteria. Most everyone was satisfied with the variety and the quality of the meal.

Before the hour long (if not longr) worship service, we could take part in some recreational fun of our choice. We could sign out some sports balls to play with, or just have fun in the sun with new and old friends.

The worship service consisted of praise and worship songs, scriptures, preaching and a very powerful powerpoint presentation, including a Coca Cola bottle!. A lot of people were satisfied with the first service of the week.

Between the end of service and curfew (11:00 p.m.), participants could do as they pleased, indoors or outdoors. But at curfew, there is a meeting for each floor of each residence for the participants to understand the rules.

It looks like everybody is making new friends and is having fun!
