We Must Find Our Voice

Re Speak Out, Letters, September

It is appalling that the Presbyterian Church would be implicated in Ghana’s recent effort to arrest homosexuals. We cannot remain silent, digging in our heels in unchallenged biblical interpretation. We cannot remain silent out of fear of disrupting church unity when God requires us to seek justice.
Being heterosexual or homosexual does not determine moral uprightness; how one lives out their orientation determines the measure of morality.
We need to find a just voice and speak up for the persecuted, outcast and lonely.
