The Rev. Iona MacLean is preparing to slice a cake in honour of her 20th anniversary as minister of First, Pictou, N.S., and her 35th anniversary of ordination to the ministry of word and sacraments.
With her is Christina MacDonald, session clerk at First Church. The congregation and session arranged the celebration and presented her with a notebook computer and a flat screen television. MacLean was the first woman minister to be ordained in the Synod of the Atlantic Provinces.
