Sunday, November 24, 2013 — Morning Prayer

From Revelation 7:
After this I looked, and there was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, from all tribes and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, robed in white, with palm branches in their hands. They cried out in a loud voice, saying,
“Salvation belongs to our God who is seated on the throne, and to the Lamb.”

From J. Philip Newell, Celtic Treasures:

Lover of the poor,
defender of the needy,
sanctuary od the rejected:
for those who suffer injustice today,
for men and women who cannot provide food for their families,
and for whole communities who fear today and have no hope for tomorrow,
we offer the longings of our hearts in prayer.
we seek for them, O God, the gifts that are dear to us:
food for the table,
drink for the could,
shelter in the night
and open arms to welcome us.

May we seek today God’s intended rule by the way we open our hearts to our to each one we see, each one we touch, each one we lift in prayer!
