Welcome to Cariboo Trails and Tales

It’s the start of a new way of joining us in the Cariboo – follow our blog and get a taste of the ministry of the Cariboo Presbyterian House Church Mission in the Cariboo/Chilcotin region of BC.  Each week someone will share a story, a reflection, a recipe or an activity for you to enjoy. We are a varied group spread throughout this vast area and our sharing along the journey will reflect that. I hope you will enjoy traveling this trail with us and the tales told along the way.

Who we are…

The Cariboo Presbyterian House Church Mission is a mission work of the Presbyterian Church in Canada.  Our mission is to reach out with the love of Christ to those who live beyond the reach of the traditional church in the rural and remotes areas of the Cariboo/Chilcotin region of BC.  Each house church or ministry point is unique and has its own flavour. Some are very small and some host up to 60 people. We have two very active kids’ programmes, teen groups and outreach work in seniors’ residences and a homeless shelter.  While we are Presbyterian in structure (and have a session of elders who oversee the whole ministry) we are interdenominational in practice, with people from all kinds of backgrounds. Our emphasis is on building communities of faith in Jesus who will then share that same love with their neighbours and serve their surrounding communities.
