Lent is upon us, and our church has decided to do a fun fundraiser. This week we are asked to give a quarter for ever pair of shoes we own. (Unfortunately for me I own 32 pairs). Next week we owe 10 cents for every door in our house. What does your church do for Lent? Have you given up anything?

you who breathed the spirit of life within me.
Draw out of me the light and life you created.
Help me to find my way back to you.
Help me to use my life to reflect your glory
and to serve others
as your son Jesus did.
May the Lord bless us,
protect us from all evil
