Thursday, April 17, 2014 — Joy

The Psalmist recovers and wakes in joy: “You have turned my mourning into dancing; you have taken off my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, so that my soul will praise you and not be silent. O Lord, my God, I will give thanks to you forever.”( Psalm 30: 11-12)

Mechtild of Magdeburg, 13th C. Beguine mystic, writes:
“I cannot dance, O God, unless You lead me.
If You will that I leap joyfully, then You must be the first to dance and sing.”

Allow your spirit and the rest of your being to dance and praise today, as you give thanks!

Breath Prayer: (In) My soul will praise You
(Out)I will not be silent!
