Wednesday, September 3, 2014 —Lord, take me where You want me to go

This prayer was written by Father Mychal Judge, a FDNY chaplain killed on September 11, 2001.

Lord, take me where You want me to go;
Let me meet who You want me to meet;
Tell me what You want me to say; and
Keep me out of your way.

It is simple yet deeply profound. Each day, we are invited to the well of the Divine, filled to be emptied, of the loving compassion of the One who has made all things. Self-emptying is not always an easy thing, yet it is the way to being filled. One of those crazy paradoxes of a life lived in the Spirit. Be blessed to be a blessing this day, unless you have other plans!
