St. Andrew’s, Ottawa

Fiona started having birthday party’s with her friends when she started school, and every year she decided to request donations instead of presents. At her first party we decided together that she would collect for F.O.O.D – Feeding Others of Dartmouth, a Soup Kitchen that accepted both food and monetary donations. When she dropped her donations off, they invited her in to see the kitchen and explained a little bit about what they do. (Above is a picture of Fiona in the kitchen from 2012.) The 2nd year we let her pick the charity and she decided to stick with the same place as she had seen how grateful they were the previous year.

This year, her 3rd year collecting, we were no longer in Nova Scotia, so Fiona decided to pick something new. She had heard about the fund for Girls’ education in Afghanistan at church and decided that is where she wanted her money to go.
