Thanks be to God for this day. Good morning brothers and sisters. This prayer-poem is written in the early morning hours from my home at the edge of the north Atlantic sea: a living water ever-changing, and shifting, and flowing….
Beloved God
We have so many names for you
And, so, we speak to you with the energy of love
Expressed in the humility of words
Reaching and stretching…like our minds, hearts, and spirits
To embrace your vastness…
Fill our every breath with Your infinity
Guide our bodies of dust and delight
….with Your eternal Spirit
We put our life before you and in doing so
Embracing Your vision of timeless Grace
Which gives us vision to see that we are deeply part
….of You….
….of every living thing that lives and has lived
….the land and the living waters….the air and the sky….
….all things known and unknown to us
And so our minds, our bodies, our spirits blossom
As we acknowledge every drop of ocean, every bone, and every grain
Is in us…as we open ourselves to the day
Thank you for your limitlessness
Give us the courage to live into that truth this day and evermore.
