Saturday, November 15, 2014 — Even a Frozen Shape

“What I’m saying is, if you walk around with your nose in the air, you’re going to end up flat on your face. But if you’re content to be simply yourself, you will become more than yourself.” [Luke 14:11, The Message] ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

even a frozen shape
womb-like
carries possibilities
of openings, difference,
and hope.
to naked eye
all is not what it seems
yeast or seed
working their miracle
beyond every effort
to pin down
that which is elusive
spreading
in multiple directions
mirroring
shaping up
pushing its own way
crossing and re-crossing boundaries
transgressing
beyond and below
across and above.

Let us pray, conscious that our prayer gives the Spirit a way of breaking into word, song and silence unique in all the universe. So, for the words, songs and silence within each of us, let us give thanks.

Let us pray, believing we are bearers of a treasure, the Spirit of Life blessing us with a variety of gifts. So, for the treasures we each bear, let us give thanks.

Let us pray, mindful of God in Christ at work in our lives and of what may be possible if we allow the Spirit to roam freely in each of us. So, for God working in our lives, let us give thanks.

Let us pray, inviting the Spirit of life, love, and goodness to move freely in our thoughts, words and actions! AMEN
