Union, Halton Hills, Ont.

This corn both is run by Union Presbyterian, a small rural congregation with a heart for mission. They wanted to help the community but didn’t have a lot of extra money. So they decided to be confident that God had given them resources and talents, and decided they’d use them to raise some funds and be a positive influence in their community.

One church member is also a corn farmer. Volunteers decided to pick corn on the farm bright and early at 6:30 a.m., and sit in the booth every day. The corn costs “as much as you’d like to give.” Every cent goes to local charities. In 2014, they raised over $9,300!
