Re In the Outer Courts, October

I very much appreciated this column, however, I do take exception to one statement made in the fourth paragraph, “… it’s not institutional.” I believe it is.

Given our strong western European origins and history, we accept individuals from other countries and nationalities but with the tacit message that they have much to learn from us while we have little to learn from them. 

I have made this comment a few times. Those who would be considered to be a minority, visible or otherwise, have little trouble seeing it. White folk, WASPs, deny it vehemently.
