What DOES God, Source, Higher Power, Spirit feel like? How do we know when Mystery is actively present?

My experiences of Presence have been few, but distinctive. In the midst of some activity, silence comes upon us. Time itself seems to slow down. Gestures become slowed, tentative, as if the air has taken on the consistency of thick soup. There’s a heavy, tactile quiet that fills the space. People’s faces look vague, their gazes turned inward. We revel in the shared moment, and then it calmly drifts away. And after, we all acknowledge that something was, something happened, something is now different. We grin helplessly and wonder.

What are your experiences of the holy in our midst?

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference.
