St. Paul’s PC, Prince Albert, Sask.

On June 18, St. Paul’s, Prince Albert, gathered for a threefold 150th anniversary celebration: its founding in 1866; the naming of the city by its first minister, the Rev. James Nisbet; and the movement west by Presbyterians into what would become the Province of Saskatchewan. It was a bittersweet occasion as it also marked a goodbye to the building, sold to another congregation when structural problems and on-going operational costs proved too expensive to undertake. St. Paul’s continues its worship and mission but in rented space elsewhere in the city. The photo shows worshippers gathering from as far away as Ontario and B.C. Pictured in the foreground are, from the right, the Rev. Angus McGillivray, guest preacher for the occasion, Jennifer McGillivray, Peter McGillivray, guest soloist, and Kathleen McGillivray.
