Sunday, September 15, 2013 — Morning Reflection

It’s a grey and wet morning here in Corner Brook, with the remnants of Tropical Storm Gabrielle drizzling and sometimes pouring on us. It’s also one of those days when the fog hangs so low it’s lying between the hills, and it’s quite lovely. No two days are the same, especially by the water.

Today is “Welcome Back” at church, a covenanting of the leaders, and Blessing of the Backpacks. Stopping at Shoppers on the way to church, to pick up things for backpacks and school.

It is also two more weeks, and my time here will be done. Three years has flown by. Seems like just yesterday the boxes were being unpacked, and now the house is once again full of boxes. Driving back to Toronto…..on the road again….

Life has so many things to offer, and the journey goes on….wasn’t it Bilbo Baggins, in Fellowship of the Ring, who said something like “You have to be careful when you go out your door, Frodo. You never know where your feet might take you.”

Bilbo’s Song – “The Road goes ever on and on, down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone, and I must follow if I can,
pursuing it with eager feet, until it joins some larger way
where may paths and errands meet. And whither then? I cannot say.”

Blessings on Sunday morning…..
