Monday, November 25, 2013 — Morning Prayer

From Ephesians 2:
For Christ is our peace; in his flesh he has made both groups into one and has broken down the dividing wall, that is the hostility between us…So you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are citizens with the saints and also members of the household of God, built upon the foundation of Jesus Christ himself as the cornerstone.

From Joyce Rupp, my soul feels lean:

“Community”
Branches touch

Limbs assure one another,
“I’m here.”

I spite of how jagged
And torn the braches,
“I’m here
bedside you through the long
turbulent nights.

I’ll reach to connect
With you
In the wildest of winds.

Be assured of my presence.
Have confidence.
I’m here.”

May we touch and reach out to be God’s hands and feet in the world.
