Monday, January 20, 2014 — Be Thou My Vision

Every time I sit on my desk, I see this calligraphy piece with the full text of that ancient Celtic hymn: Be Thou My Vision. As I received the day today, I read it slowly, line by line, and just waited for words to speak to me.

What I heard was “heart of my own heart, whatever befall. Still be my vision, o ruler of all.” That’s alive for me. I feel I have what I need to go through this day.

Here is Irish singer songwriter Van Morrison’s version of it from his album “Hymns to the Silence” (1990).
