Sitting before you today, Beloved
Allowing the clarity to come through by itself
Putting aside the play of mind for a while
And just letting this moment be.
Feeling the textures of pain
From the stresses of this week
No longer trying too hard
To be happy or holy.
Needing nothing to make this moment
Anything other than what it is.
So this is how prayer feels
It can be quite intense sometimes.
