Please pray for those with memory loss and their caregivers! Thanks for letting me add my poems to your prayers this last week.

Peter Persists

Confronting the new day,
Reveling and hoarding the opportunity and ability to go out and feel the sun,
to hear the sweet bird songs,
and see the beautiful scenes of nature that are all free,
Peter proclaims, “ I will not relinquish mind or memories.
Do not attempt to drain my understanding.
Rob me of my keys, consume my days,
But do not steal my sense of wonder.
I will grab precious independence,
Never alone, as I sacrifice self, pursuing help of friend.
Holding always to my health, never surrendering my ability to be active in each hour.
I will persist lovingly.
I will be me.”
