St. Andrew’s, Arnprior, Ont.

On Sunday, August 30th the congregation of St. Andrew’s, Arnprior, celebrated two special events in the life of the Rev. Dr. James Edmiston. His 100th birthday was on September 1st and he also celebrated 65 years of ordination in the Presbyterian Church in Canada on May 3rd of this year. Rev. Jim was born on September 1, 1915 in Glasgow, Scotland. He attended Presbyterian College, Montreal, graduated in April 1950 and served congregations on Cape Breton Island, in Halifax and Ile Perrot, Que. Rev. Jim is known for his whit, charm and blessing of the haggis in Scottish Gaelic. Pictured with Rev. Jim are his longtime friends Wayne and Barbara Hart.
