Car Crashes into Galilee, Toronto

Members of Galilee, Toronto, woke up to a surprise on July 2. In the early morning, a driver crashed a sedan through a lamppost and into the church building, crumpling the front of the car.

Police told the media they began following the vehicle because they suspected it could have been stolen. The 19-year-old driver was arrested nearby following a search of the area, and was taken to a hospital with injuries. The Special Investigations Unit is looking into the incident.

Rev. Soo Taeg Lim, minister at Galilee, was in Nicaragua on a yearly mission trip at the time of the accident but returned a few days later. There was about $12,000 of damage to the building, but the church’s insurance covered all the repairs, he said.
