King’s, New Minas is a new church development, and it’s doing exceedingly well. A new facility opened in 2000. Since then the kitchen and the church school classrooms have been finished.
And the congregation is working hard to reduce the debt. But, as is always the case, the future often needs a little help from the past.
The MacDonald family – if the name doesn’t give them away – has a long association with the church. Allister MacDonald had two Presbyterian minister brothers – Rev. Joe MacDonald and past moderator Rev. Dr. Donald MacDonald. And, recently members of Dr. MacDonald’s family bequeathed over $200,000 to King’s. From left: Don MacDonald; Rev.
