Jail relocated for Armageddon

(ENI) — Israel is set to relocate a jail in Megiddo after an ancient church was discovered on its grounds last November. Although the historical claims have been debated, it is believed to be the oldest church ever found in the Holy Land.
As reported in the Record's February issue, the chapel provides new insight into early Christianity when it was a persecuted religion in the Holy Land. It also contains an inscription dedicated to a woman who dedicated an altar to “the God Jesus Christos,” which is believed to be the earliest epigraphic reference to Jesus discovered.
Megiddo, also known as Armageddon, is where the last battle between good and evil is supposed to take place according to the Book of Revelation.
Pope Benedict XVI has expressed interest in visiting the excavation on any future trips to the Holy Land.
