I note in the Record that someone with the initials AM writes quite a few columns.
I checked in the appendix to our dictionary and quote the following possible answers as to who AM may be:
Albert Medal — British
Anno Mundi — in the year of the world
Ante Meridien — before noon
Artisium Magister — Master of Arts
Ave Maria — Hail Mary
None of the above applies so I shall settle for the answer being Angelic Moderator.
